Pics: 19 year old boy arraigned by EFCC over internet scamming

A 19-year-old suspected internet fraudster Ojosipe Adebayo, has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before Justice A.O Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja on a two- count -charge bordering on possession of a document containing false pretences and forgery.

The defendant is allegedly a member of a syndicate of internet fraudsters that specialize in using fake cheques and scam mails to defraud unsuspecting victims.

Photos: Nigerian woman amongst rescued immigrants gives birth on one of the boats

Over the weekend and on Monday, about 7,000 illegal immigrants were rescued from overcrowded boats crossing the Mediterranean into Italy. One of the migrants was a pregnant Nigerian woman. The woman went into labour while being rescued from a boat and gave birth to a baby girl. The baby has been named Francesca Marina as a tribute to the Italian Navy (Marina Militare). 

Crew from the Italian navy ship Bettica found the Nigerian woman in labour on a boat – one of 34 vessels intercepted over the weekend. This photo above (left) released by the Italian navy shows the baby girl sleeping in a makeshift cradle decorated with a pink bow.

Above is the picture of Julius Berger himself, the world renowned construction magnate whose construction company - Julius Berger - built most of our bridges and many Nigerian edifices.

He was born in 1862 in Zempelburg, a small town in Germany. His father sent him to Berlin at the age of 12 to take up an apprenticeship with a leather wholesale firm. He returned to the family transport business three years later in 1878. He soon found himself more frequently transporting building materials instead of grain. It was this transportation of building materials that led to his becoming increasingly familiar with the construction industry.

Several flights delayed at Lagos airport due to aviation fuel scarcity

Quite a number of flights have been cancelled and some delayed this morning at the Murtala Mohammed Airport due to scarcity of Aviation fuel. Some passengers speaks out saying they have been at the airport since 6.30 and have not been able to fly out.

Fuel scarcity: Marketers insist strike continues, denies receiving any money from FG

 Members of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association DAPPMA say the strike action they are currently embarking on will continue despite claims by the Federal Government that N156bn was released yesterday to offset some debts owed them and end the persisting fuel scarcity.

In an interview with Premium Times, the Executive Secretary of DAPPMA, Odufemi Adewole said that non of their members in the Major Oil Marketers Association (MOMAN), have received the monies supposedly released yesterday and that until the money hits the accounts of all its members, they will not call off the strike.
